Kano Court Orders TikTokers to Marry Within 60 Days Over Alleged Indecent Videos

A Magistrate Court in Kano has ordered two well-known TikTokers, Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira Yar Guda, to get married within 60 days following allegations of appearing in indecent viral videos.

The ruling came after the Kano State Films and Video Censorship Board accused the duo of featuring in clips deemed contrary to the moral and religious values of the state.

Presiding Magistrate Halima Wali, on Monday, directed the Kano State Hisbah Board to ensure the marriage is conducted within the stipulated period. She further warned that failure to comply would amount to contempt of court.

Additionally, the court instructed the Chairman of the Censorship Board to supervise the enforcement of the marriage order.

It would be recalled that both TikTokers were recently arraigned for allegedly producing and circulating obscene content on social media.

Mai Wushirya had earlier been remanded in a correctional facility after videos showing him in “immoral and demeaning” acts with the female creator went viral.

According to the Censorship Board, the videos violated state laws against the creation and distribution of sexually suggestive or obscene material.
